The agency world is hopping on the podcast bandwagon in record numbers. The Internet’s love affair with audio of course kicked off with people clamoring to platforms like Clubhouse during the mid-pandemic days, and after leveling out have shifted to more traditional platforms like Apple. IPG Media Lab has a fairly interesting take by combining technology and culture as the baseline for discussion.
Agencies have different reasons for investing in podcasts, but these shows can often serve as a marketing tool, helping them get in front of potential clients, build their own brands, or even show off their own podcasting chops. / Via Apple

This is not “new” but I recently filled out a user feedback form on how much I loved this site, which is rare for me, so I thought I would share again here. I Heard It In A Magazine is an online destination for sound culture and the listening-obsessed.

Skateboarding has always been an extremely inclusive subculture. When I started jumping down stairs and over garbage cans in the late 80s no one cared what you looked like, what language you spoke, or your personal life choices. The only thing we cared about was each other and of course skating. Check out this great piece taking you inside California’s queer skate scene. / via i-D

Google has officially opened its new Bay View headquarters in Mountain View, California, its first self-designed campus. At first glance, aerial shots display a distinct roof design that resembles reptilian scales. A closer look reveals that the roof actually consists of 90,000 silver solar panels, a first-of-its-kind design that Google dubs “dragonscale solar skin.” which generates nearly seven megawatts of energy, approximately 40% of the offices’ energy consumption, and nearby wind farms are able to power the building on carbon-free energy 90% of the time. / via Hypebeast
